Highpower & Blackpowder Rifle Silhouette Range

This range was constructed in the 1970's for NRA Rifle Silhouette competition. It is also used for black powder cartridge rifle silhouette and black powder "buffalo" rifle matches. Silhouette targets are place at 200 meters, gallina (chicken); 300 meters, javelina (pig); 385 meters guajalote (turkey); and 500 meters borrego (ram). These targets are used for both the NRA rifle and the black powder cartridge matches. The gongs for "buffalo" rifle matches are placed at unspecified distances between 200 and 700 yards.
Shooting is restricted to cast lead bullets or conventional soft point hunting ammo. Armor piercing ammo may not be used. The range is closed when any of the Highpower Rifle firing lines (#1 on the map) are in use. Use of this range must be coordinated with the rimfire silhouette range (#3) - do not fire at the rams when anyone is on the rimfire range and firing must be stopped on both ranges before anyone goes forward to the targets on either range. Firing must be suspended when people are traveling to or from the shotgun area (#10) near the highpower pits.

Rimfire Silhouette Range

This range was originally constructed for IHMSA smallbore handgun silhouette matches. The swingers are 3/8 the size of full size silhouettes and are placed at 25 yards (chicken), 50yards (pig), 75 yards (turkey), and 100 yards (ram). Only .22 rimfire rifles or pistols may be used. This range is closed when the 600 yard highpower firing line is in use range (#1). Use of this range must be coordinated with the highpower rifle silhouette range (#2) - firing must be stopped on both ranges before anyone goes forward to the targets on either range.
